PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to enroll the petitioner as an Advocate before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH,J.) It is the claim of the petitioner that though he possesses all the required pre-law qualifications, as well as the Bachelor of Law Degree and has paid the necessary enrollment fees, he has not been permitted to enroll himself before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry.

2. The issue as to whether the petitioner's candidature can be considered for enrollment requires to be taken by the respondent and this Court will not be justified in stepping into the shoes of the respondent for considering the same.

3. In this background, the petitioner is granted liberty to make a representation to the respondent ventilating his grievances and on receipt of the representation, the respondent shall consider it on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of the representation.

4. We hereby clarify that we have not expressed any of our views with regard to the petitioner's eligibility to be enrolled as an Advocate. 2/4
