ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 482 Cr.P.C., to to direct the learned VI Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore at Chennai to expedite the trial proceedings in C.C.No.8475 of 2014.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that a case was registered against the petitioner in Crime No.77/TN3/2014 by the respondent police for the offence under Section 279 & 304(A) IPC. After completing the investigation, the respondent police filed a charge sheet and the case is pending before the learned VI Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore at Chennai in C.C.No.8475 of 2014 for the offence under Section 279 & 304 (A) IPC.

3.The learned counsel would further submit that the case was https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

numbered in the year 2014 and repeatedly adjourned, till date on the side of the prosecution none of the witnesses were produced before the Trial Court. The petitioner has completed B.A., (Economics) and he is a L.I.C. Zonal Officer by profession. Due to the pendency of the case, the petitioner is not able to accept the overseas job offers and his entire career has affected due to pendency of the trial proceedings. Accordingly, prays for appropriate relief.

4.Considering the long pendency of the case, this Court is inclined to direct the learned VI Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore at Chennai to expedite the trial proceedings in C.C.No.8475 of 2014 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition stands ordered.
