ORDER

This Writ petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the second respondent dated 12.12.2012, thereby not selected the petitioner for the post of Post Graduate Assistant (English).

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The Second respondent conducted examination for appointment to the Post of Post Graduate Teachers. The petitioner had completed regular degree course in Geography and had completed B.Ed.Degree and M.A degree. Thereafter, the petitioner had joined special degree course in B.A (English). On the strength of the said examination, the petitioner had attended the examination for the post of Post Graduate Teacher in English. Though the petitioner had qualified and attended the certificate verification, the petitioner was not selected to the post of Post Graduate Teacher in English.

4. Initially, the petitioner filed a petition for direction directing the

second respondent to issue appointment order for the post of Post Graduate Assistant (English). Pending writ petition, the request made by the petitioner was rejected, since the petitioner is not eligible to be appointed to the post of Post Graduate Teacher in English.

5. On perusal of the records revealed that the petitioner had obtained degree in Geography and thereafter, he had completed one year course in English. Therefore, the petitioner is not eligible to be appointed to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (English).

6. Hence, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the second respondent dated 12.12.2012 and this writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
