ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2024 regarding compassionate appointment as Junior Assistant consequent to the demise of his father R.Vijayakumar, Lecturer, Government Fine Arts College, who died while in service on 17.09.2022, within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his father while working as Lecturer in the Government Fine Arts college, Kumbakkonam died on 17.09.2022 leaving behind the petitioner's family. Due to the demise of his father, he made an application as well as representation to the respondents for compassionate appointment on 22.02.2024, however, the same was not considered. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
3. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing today at the admission stage itself.
4. In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2024 for compassionate appointment and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
