ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to issue patta for the properties of the petitioner's Association, based on the proceedings of the agricultural officer dated 30.03.2023.

2. The petitioner Association represents the interest of the agriculturists in Puducherry. According to the petitioner Association, its members are entitled for grant of patta for their respective properties, which are in their possession. The petitioner had given a representation to the respondents, and the Office of the agricultural officer, Government of Puducherry, has also forwarded the same to the fourth respondent on 30.03.2023, requesting the Tahsildar to consider the applications submitted for issuance of patta.

3. According to the petitioner Association, till date pattas have not been issued to its members. In such circumstances, this writ petition has been filed.

4. Mr. R. Sreedhar, learned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherry) accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the representation of the petitioner's association, seeking for issuance of patta for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition in the name of its

respective members, is considered on merits and in accordance with law after giving due consideration to the documents filed by the petitioner's association within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation dated 30.03.2023.

7. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the fourth respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 30.03.2023, seeking for issuance of patta in the name of its respective members for the properties morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after hearing the objections of the neighbouring land owners if any and any other third party whom the fourth respondent deems it fit to enquire.
