By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition for a mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on his representation dated 15.3.2016 with regard to issuance of fresh family card, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that his name was

included in the family card issued to his parents for the year 2005-2009. After marriage, the petitioner shifted his residence to Door No.3/2, Ezhil Nagar, Tiruppattur-635 601, Vellore District, from the year 2010. Thereafter, he has applied for fresh family card to the respondents and the respondents asked him to produce a certificate in regard to deletion of his name in the family card issued to his parents. Pursuant to the same, the petitioner obtained the said certificate dated 8.3.2013 from the Assistant Commissioner of Taluk Supply Officer, Kunnam. His wife has also obtained the said certificate dated 15.4.2013 from the Tauk Supply Officer, Tiruppattur. Thereafter, he submitted an application on 5.3.2014 along with necessary documents to the respondents, requesting them to issue fresh family card.

But, the said application was not considered by the respondents. Again, he made a representation dated 15.3.2016 to the respondents for issuance of fresh family card. Since the same was also not considered, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition for the relief set out earlier.

4. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, who has taken notice on behalf of the respondents.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the submissions made on either side, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.3.2016 and pass appropriate orders / take necessary action, on merits and in accordance with law, by affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
