Respondent PRAYER: Contempt Petition has been filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondent herein for the act of Contempt of Court for his disobedience of the order dated 14.12.2018 passed in Crl.O.P.No.29288 of 2018 on the file of this Court. O R D E R

This petition has been filed to punish the respondent herein for the act of Contempt of Court for his disobedience of the order dated 14.12.2018 passed in Crl.O.P.No.29288 of 2018 on the file of this Court.

2. The respondent police have filed a counter affidavit in this case.

3. Para 15 of the counter affidavit is extracted hereunder:

"I submit that the Inspector of Police, Komarapalayam Police Station never interfered earlier and shall not interfere with the peaceful conduct of the agitations of the petitioner in his own land in S.F.No.27/1A3, Padaiveedu Village, Samandur except, where any law and order problem is being created. The respondent police shall also ensure that the agitation goes on peacefully and also provide necessary police protection to the petitioner and others at the time of agitation".

4. In view of the specific stand taken by the respondent and undertaking given that they will not interfere with the peaceful conduct of the agitations by the petitioner in his own land, nothing more survives in this contempt petition, except to record the undertaking given before this Court.
