Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus calling for the records leading to the detention of the petitioner's wife, Krishnaveni, Wife of Soundarrajan, female, aged 45 years has been detained under Act 14/82 as a "Goonda" vide detention order dated 27.08.2014 on the file of the 2nd respondent herein made in C3/D.O.No.71/2014 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the body and person of the said detenue before this Court and thereafter set her at liberty from the Special Prison for Women,Vellore.

O R D E R

The petitioner, who is the husband of the detenu, Krishnaveni, Wife of Soundarrajan, aged about 45 years, has come forward with this petition challenging the detention order passed by the 2nd respondent dated 27.08.2014 against his wife branding her as a "Bootlegger" under the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Forest Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video Pirates Act, 1982 [Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982].

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the order of detention passed by the 2nd respondent as against the wife of the petitioner dated 27.08.2014 has been revoked by the Government in G.O. [Rt] No.5147, dated 15.10.2014 and he has also produced a copy of the said order.
