The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in S.T.C.No.2911 of 2023, pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karur, as against the petitioners. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the 1st respondent. 3.The case of the prosecution is that the accused persons had assembled at Karur, Manohara Corner and conducted a protest meeting against the State Government for increasing Electricity Charges. 2/4

4.In the considered view of this Court, the facts of the present case can be brought within Section 95 of IPC. No useful purpose will be served in prosecuting all these cases, considering the fact that these are minor offences which may not be have any great significance at this length of time.

5.In the light of the above discussion, the proceedings in S.T.C.No.2911 of 2023, pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Karur, is quashed in entirety. 6.In the result, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed with the above terms. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
