Mandamus calling for the impugned notice dated 18.12.2021 in Na.Ka.No.482/2021/A5 issued by the second respondent inviting applications to fill up the 16 posts of Village Assistants and quash the same illegal, consequently direct the second respondent to issue a fresh notification / publication and to conduct the written examinations and proper recorded interview and procedure to be followed in selection to the Village Assistants. For Petitioners W.P.Nos.6481, 6486, 6489 & : Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan For Respondents : Mr.V.Arun, Additional advocate General assisted by Mr.T.Chezhiyan, Additional Government Pleader COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed challenging the impugned notices dated 18.12.2021 and 03.01.2022 inviting applications to fill up the post of Village Assistants in the respective Taluks.

In pursuant to the impugned notifications dated 18.12.2021 and 03.01.2022, the second respondent / District Collector, Mayiladuthurai has passed an order dated 29.03.2022, cancelling the appointing orders made by the Tahsildars of the respective Taluks and the aggrieved persons have approached this Court by filing writ petitions and this Court, vide common

order dated 14.07.2022 in W.P.Nos.9058 of 2022 etc., batch has allowed the said writ petitions and directed reinstatement of the petitioners therein.

In view of the action taken by the second respondent / District Collector, Mayiladuthurai and the subsequent order passed by this Court as stated supra, nothing survives for further adjudication in these writ petitions and hence, these writ petitions are dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
