This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to ensure the procession of Urchaver idol of Lord Muruga of A/m.Kandhaswamy Temple, Tiruporur during annual Masi Bramorchava Festival, particularly on 8th and Page No:2/6
9th day of the festival event called "Maalai Parivettai" event as sought by the petitioner through his Ward Councillor in his representation, dated 23/11/2022.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the authorities have orally intimated the petitioner that the petitioner can take the deities on procession to Padavattamman Kovil Street. The apprehension of the petitioner is that if the respondents fail to ensure the procession of above deity, it would not only cause communal disharmony but also would case irreparable pain. deity will

7. Mrs.R.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader, on instruction submitted that they have already taken a decision to allow the procession of Urchavar idol of Lord Muruga of A/m.Kandhaswamy Temple, Tiruporur during annual Masi Bramorchava Festival.
8. Recording the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, this writ petition is disposed of. If protection is required, petitioner is at liberty to approach the Superintendent of Police, Chengalpet District, Chengalpet/sixth respondent. On such approach by the petitioner, sixth respondent is directed to afford necessary protection to the temple authorities.
