Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments put up by unauthorised persons (without license) in the Navalur Nedunchezhian Road - where the Emergency gate of the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital is situated and in the public roads surrounding the hospital by considering the representations of the petitioner dated 08.01.2023 (sent on 11.01.2023) and 02.02.2023 (sent on 05.02.2023). ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) This public interest litigation has been filed seeking a direction to the the respondents to remove the encroachments put up by unauthorised persons in the Navalur Nedunchezhian Road, where the Emergency gate of the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital is situated and also in the public roads surrounding the hospital by considering the representations of the petitioner

dated 08.01.2023 and 02.02.2023.

2. The petitioner, who is a social activist and also the Editor of Visaranai Thadayam, a Tamil monthly magazine, made representations to remove the encroachments made inside and outside of the premises of the fifth respondent Hospital and not to permit unauthorised shop owners to put up stalls or eateries on the roads surrounding the hospital. As no action was taken on the same, he has come up with this writ petition.

3. We are unable to find any merit in this petition, which is styled as public interest litigation, as the petitioner has failed to show any element of public interest involved in this matter nor produced any document to that effect. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. There will be no order as to costs.
