Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 18.04.2015 requesting to grant permission to conduct cultural programme on 29.04.2015.

2. The petitioner claims that he is the President of Arulmighu Maha Mariamman Temple and every year during the tamil month of 'Sitharai', yearly festival is conducted in a very grand manner wherein a song and dance programme is conducted in a peaceful manner.

The petitioner has submitted an application/representation dated 18.04.2015 to the respondent seeking permission to conduct the festival for this year also and though, it was acknowledged, he has not been favoured with any response and hence, came forward to file this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the submissions of Mr. N.Ponraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondent.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the application/representation, directs the respondent to consider the application/representation dated 18.04.2015, submitted by the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, as expeditiously as possible and not later than 02.05.2015 and inform the decision taken, to the petitioner forthwith.

5. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
