ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) When the petitioner's brother-in-law, namely S.Baskaran, S/o.Samy, aged about 50 years, had gone missing, he had lodged a complaint on 17.12.2024 before the second respondent Police and the same was registered in F.I.R. No.615 of 2024. Since the petitioner's brother-in-law could not be traced within a reasonable time, he has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner's complaint was registered in F.I.R. No.615 of 2024 on 17.12.2024 as 'man missing' and that the respondent Police are conducting investigation to locate the petitioner's brother-in-law.

3. Since the petitioner's complaint is in the process of investigation, we deem it fit that the respondents could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of the above, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the respondents herein, to expedite the investigation and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. No costs.
