Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to furnish copy of the award passed in pursuance land acquired to extend the 'SIPCOT Industrial Estate-Ext.2' Project under the Land Acquisition Act as per petitioner's representation dated 28.12.2017. ORDER

Mr.Akhil Akbar Ali, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the learned counsels appearing for the parties, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he along with his brother Arunachalam purchased a property measuring an extent of 30 cents in Survey No.140/9 of Vadakal Village, in Sriperumbudur Taluk, by virtue of a registered sale deed, document No.1201 of 2009. The land was acquired by the respondents for the purpose of development of Sriperumbudur SIPCOT Industrial Unit.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the first respondent issued a notice to the petitioner in the month https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of June 2013 informing him that the compensation was fixed at Rs.235/- per square feet. Being dis-satisfied with the award, he gave a representation to the respondents. Moreover, the copy of the award was not furnished to the petitioner so far. Hence, he gave a representation on 28.12.2017. Since no favourable order is forthcoming, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.

5. In the light of the submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.12.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
