ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to issue patta in the name of the petitioner for an alternative place other than the

property, morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2.Earlier, the request of the petitioner for grant of free house site patta was rejected by the second respondent on 19.10.2023, but as seen from the said rejection order, the petitioner was assured that patta will be issued in favour of the petitioner in an alternative place. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3.Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4.No prejudice would be caused to the second respondent if the petitioner's request for issuance of patta for an alternative place in the light of the order dated 19.10.2023 passed by the second respondent rejecting the petitioner's earlier request for grant of patta for the said property, is considered, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5.This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's request for grant of alternative place in the place of the earlier place for which patta was sought for.

6.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent to pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law in the light of the order dated 19.10.2023 passed by the second respondent, wherein an assurance was given to the petitioner to grant patta for an alternative place in favour of the petitioner, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
