Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for the records relating to the second respondent pertaining to the detention order made in No.C2/29018/2017 dated 21.10.2017 in detaining the detenu under Tamil Nadu Act 14/1982 as "Bootlegger" and quash the same and further direct the respondents to produce the said detenu, namely Manoharan S/o.Thiru.Rathinam, aged 55 years who is detained at Central Prison, Cuddalore before this Hon'ble Court and set him at liberty.

1. The petitioner is the son in law of the detenu, namely, Manogaran, S/o.Rathinam, male, aged about 55 years. The detenu stands detained by the second respondent by virtue of his order bearing No.C2/29018/2017 dated 21.10.2017, wherein, he has been held to be a "Bootlegger", within the meaning of Section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. 1.1. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the said order of detention, passed by the second respondent against the uncle of the petitioner has been revoked by the Government in G.O.Rt.No.5221, Home, Prohibition & Excise (XIV) Department dated 30.10.2017; a copy of the order has also been produced.
