PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents herein to take immediate action in pursuance of the Notification issued vide G.O. Ms. No.32, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (AR3) Departments, dated 01.03.2011 so as to enable the petitioner herein to assume charge as State Information Commissioner of Tamil Nadu State Information Commission at once.

COMMON ORDER (Made by The Hon'ble The Chief Justice) Learned Advocate General states that on examination of the matter, a decision has been taken to withdraw the G.O.Ms.No.32, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (AR-3) Department, dated 01.03.2011 by a further G.O.(Ms.) No.21, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (AR-3) Department, dated 09.03.2015. Thus, these writ petitions seeking enforcement of the earlier Government Order have become infructuous and are accordingly disposed of. No costs.

2. We may add that if the petitioners are desirous of assailing the new Government Order/Notification, they are at liberty to do so in accordance with law.
