Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent State Government to recognise forthwith the status of the petitioner school viz., Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Marthandam, as a Christian Minority Educational Institution by considering its application dated 14.10.2016.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent/State Government to recognize forthwith the status of the petitioner school viz., Good Shepherd Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Marthandam, as a Christian Minority Educational Institution by considering its application dated 14.10.2016.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has submitted a representation to the respondents https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

dated 14.10.2016, seeking recognition and the said representation has not been considered so far. 3.Heard the learned Special Government Pleader(Education) appearing for the respondents, who submitted that some time limit may be fixed to dispose of the petitioner's representation by the respondents.

4.Considering the nature of the relief sought for herein and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
