ORDER

This contempt petition has been filed to punish the respondent for his wilful, intentional and flagrant violation of the order passed by this Court dated 17.06.2015 made in Crl.O.P.No.14627 of 2015.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. On a complaint lodged by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.476 of 2015 has been registered on 11.04.2015 for offences under Section 419, 465, 468 & 471 IPC. The

petitioner filed a petition in Crl.O.P.No.14627 of 2015, in which, this Court passed the following orders; " In view of the above, the criminal original petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent police to complete the investigation and file the final report as expeditiously as possible."

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.Frank D Ruban, Inspector of Police, T-13, Kundrathur Police Station, Chennai - 600 069, is present before this Court.

5. The learned Additional Public prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the allegation of the petitioner is that his signature has been forged in a document of the year 1997. For proceeding with the investigation, the police are calling upon the petitioner to give specimen signature relating to the said period, which is not given by the petitioner. Therefore, the police is not able to proceed with further investigation.

6. Under such circumstances, this Court finds that there is no scope of issuing statutory notice. In a case of this nature, this Court has not given any time frame to

complete the investigation. The petitioner is directed to co-operate with the investigation and give his specimen signature relating to the relevant period.

With the above observation, the contempt petition is closed.
