O R D E R

The petitioner, who is a retired teacher, with a huge and unexplained delay of 21 long years, has come to this Court seeking Mandamus directing the respondents to treat him as Elementary School Headmaster and to award consequential higher pay in the post of Elementary School Headmaster w.e.f. 01.06.1988 and Selection Grade in the post of Elementary School Headmaster w.e.f. 01.06.1988 taking into account his earlier https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

services as Secondary School Teacher as well as Primary School Headmaster.

Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents. 3.

On the face of the records, this Court is of the view that the writ petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of laches. Though the petitioner retired from service on 31.05.1994, he approached this Court seeking the aforesaid prayer only after a long passage of time, namely, 21 years. Hence, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition.

In the result, the Writ Petition fails and the same is accordingly dismissed. No costs.
