ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct the cultural event viz., Adal Padal (song and dance) program to be held on 12.03.2020 at 6.00 p.m onwards in connection with the temple festival of Sri Periya Mariyamman Thirukovil, Moongileri Village, Salem Taluk and District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.02.2020. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that there are two rival groups in the said locality. Already, several cases have been registered by the respondent police https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

including one murder case and the respondent police are yet to identify the accused. Therefore, if permission is granted to conduct cultural programme, there would be a law and order problem.

3.In the light of the above submission, this Court is not inclined to direct the respondent police to grant permission to conduct cultural programme on 12.03.2020. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
