Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the petitioners' representations dated 17.02.2017, 03.05.2017, 04.05.2017 and 10.05.2017 and to pass such further or other orders. ORDER

The writ petitioners, who are presently serving as Labour Officers from the date of their appointments made through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), sought for a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to consider their representations wherein a request was made to fix their seniority on the basis of the ranks assigned by the TNPSC, applying the rule of reservation and roster, as held by the Division Bench of this Court in W.P.No.4142 of 2012 etc batch, on 23.01.2004.

2.Mr.V.Jayaprakashnaraynan, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2, sought for eight weeks time to consider the representations of the petitioners.

3.Considering the limited prayer sought for the petitioners, without going into the merits, this Court directs the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 17.02.2017, 03.05.2017, 04.05.2017 & 10.05.2017 and pass appropriate orders fixing the inter se seniority of the Labour Officers, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
