ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the Final Report and proceedings in C.C.No.508 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Cuddalore.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, a joint memorandum of compromise, signed by the parties, is filed before this Court. The de facto complainant is the wife and the first accused is the husband and the others are the in-laws and other relatives. Since the couple have joined together and are living peacefully, by virtue of the dictum of the Hon'ble Supreme 2/6

Court of India in B.S.Joshi and Ors. Vs. State of Haryana and Anr. 1, the Final Report can be quashed as the offences relate to Sections 498A, 294B and 506(1) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.

3. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The case in C.C.No.508 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Mahila Court, Cuddalore shall stand quashed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
