The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 31.10.2025 for the alleged offences punishable under Section 310(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, in Crime No.341 of 2025 on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that he, in connivance with the other accused, hatched a conspiracy to rob money under the pretext of selling old gold at a lower price and thereby cheated the de-facto complianant to the tune of Rs.25,00,000/-. Hence, the case has been registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the co-accused have already been arrested and enlarged on bail. He also submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that there are about 16 cases of a similar nature pending against the petitioner in Madurai District as well as in Udumalpet, including offences under the NDPS Act. Hence, he opposed the grant of bail.

5. In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail, as it is not an appropriate case for grant of bail. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 02.03.2026 nvi To 1.The Inspector of Police, Perur Police Station, Tamil Nadu-641 010.
