... Respondents Prayer : The writ petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent MTC herein to appoint the petitioner as Junior Engineer Trainee and impart training to the petitioner for the post of Junior Engineer under the 33% reservation for women category.

Heard the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, as well as the learned counsels, appearing on behalf of the respondents 1, 2, and 3. Even though, court notice had been served on the fourth respondent and his name is printed in the cause list, there is no appearance on behalf of the fourth respondent.

This writ petition has been filed, praying that this Court may be pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent Metropolitan Transport Corporation to appoint the petitioner as a Junior Engineer (Trainee) and impart training, to the petitioner, for the post of Junior Engineer, under the 33% reservation for the women category.
3. Even though the prayer of the petitioner in the present writ petition is for a larger relief, the learned counsel, appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the fourth respondent is directed to send the petitioner for Apprenticeship Training.
4. It has been further stated that the petitioner is fully qualified for the said training and the petitioner had registered her application, for the said training, through online, on 25.6.2013. However, there has been no response from the fourth respondent. Hence, the petitioner has preferred the present writ petition, before this Court, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
5. In such circumstances, this Court finds it appropriate to direct the fourth respondent to send the petitioner for Apprenticeship Training, if she is found to be qualified for the same, and if there are no legal impediments, for giving her such training, as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, along with the other candidates of the next batch.
