ORDER
The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits such as Gratuity, Provident Fund, Leave Salary, and commutation of pension amount to the petitioner.
2. In the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, it had been contended that the petitioner had joined the first respondent as driver on 19.06.1986 and retired on attaining the age of superannuation on 28.02.2023. It had been contended that the terminal benefits had been settled only in November 2024. But however, there is a delay of 9 months.
3. The respondents may examine the records and if it is required may issue a communication to the petitioner herein. But however, if the respondents are of the opinion that the petitioner is entitled for interest, then the petitioner would be entitled for interest at 4% per annum from the date of superannuation till the date of actual disbursement and if the respondents are of the opinion that the petitioner is not entitled for any interest, they may issue a
communication giving reasoning for the same.
