ORDER
The order impugned dated 11.10.2013, passed by the Joint Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Erode, which was communicated to the Secretary of the writ petitioner Sangam is under challenge in the present writ petition. 1/2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2.The impugned communication dated 11.10.2013, reveals that the 2nd respondent company fixed closed circuit CCTV cameras in their factory and the workmen raised an objection in respect of fixing CCTV cameras in the factory premises. A complaint in this regard was made by the writ petitioner Sangam to the Joint Director, who in turn, passed an order, which is impugned, by stating that there is no prohibition for installation of such closed circuit CCTV cameras in the factory premises and therefore, no action could be taken against the act of the 2nd respondent.
3.Installation of CCTV cameras in the current circumstances are undoubtedly helpful for prevention of crimes and to watch the activities of the persons, who are moving around in the premises. Therefore, installation of CCTV cameras cannot be prohibited and the Management has got a right to administer the factor in order to ensure the production activities and the conduct of the persons who all are working in the premises are maintained in all respects. Therefore, the reason stated in the impugned order is in consonance with the principles and there is no infirmity as such.
