Instant Writ Petition has been filed, to quash the order, dated 10/2/2021, passed by the respondent, in his Proceedings in No.14-2099/B.E.Pullivaram/U.N/2021 and consequently, direct the respondent to issue fresh Birth Certificate, after making necessary correction as "GOVINDA THIRUNAVUKARASU" in the sixth column of the petitioner daughter's birth certificate (Reg.No.J/2007/04562).

2. The petitioner is the father of one G.Kaviyaa Kasthuri, who was born in Pondicherry and her birth was registered in the respondent Municipality. The petitioner's name in the said https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

certificate has been wrongly mentioned as GOVINDA TIROUNAVOUCARASSOU instead of GOVINDA THIRUNAVUKARASU. Pointing out this mistake, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent, on 8/2/2021, but the same was simply rejected by the respondent, stating that they have to obtain an order of Court, for correcting this mistake.

3. Mr.D.Ravichander Devakumar, learned Standing Counsel for respondent takes notice for the respondent and would submit that it is the practise of Union Territory of Puducherry that the names are written in English with French pronouncement.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. The name of the petitioner is GOVIND THIRUNAVUKARASU, instead, it has been recorded as GOVINDA TIROUNAVOUCARASSOU. There is no dispute with regard to the name of the petitioner and therefore, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to correct the name of the petitioner, which would serve the ends of justice.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. The respondent is directed to correct the name of the petitioner and issue fresh Birth Certificate of the daughter of the petitioner, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
