Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a direction in the nature of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned notification letter No.000729/-2/G-55/G.551/2012-1 dated 27.01.2012 issued by the Chief Engineer-Personnel, TANGEDCO, Chennai-2, the third respondent herein and quash the same in so far as it relates to declaring the B.E.Degree through Distance Education as ineligible for selection to the post of Assistant Engineer-Electrical and also call for the records relating to the consequential communication Ku.Aaa.EE/O&M/Somanur/Admin/Asst./Internal/V.No.1558 dated 06.09.2012 (served on the petitioner on 25.11.2012) issued by the Executive Engineer, TANGEDCO, Somanur, the 4th respondent herein and quash the same and consequently direct respondents 1 to 3 herein to prmote the petitioner to the post of Assistant Engineer Electrical by way of internal selection and pass such further orders.

Today, 20.03.2024, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the prayer sought for in this writ petition has become infructuous and he has also made an endorsement to that effect in the case bundle.

2. In view of the above submission coupled with the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the writ petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
