... Respondent Contempt petition has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the Respondent herein for wilfully disobeying the order of this Court Dated 28.04.2016 made in W.M.P.No.12790 of 2016 in W.P.No.14626 of 2016.

ORDER

This Court, by an order dated 28.04.2016 in W.M.P.No.12790 of 2016 in W.P.No.14626 of 2016, directed the respondent herein to grant necessary provisional registration for all the petitioners so as to enable them to continue or undergo Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI) Training forthwith. Further, this Court observed that the said order would not entitle the petitioners to claim permanent enrolment in the State Medical Register under Section 15 (1) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Alleging that the said order has not been complied with, the present contempt petition has been

filed.

2. When the matter was taken up on earlier occasions, it was submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent that as against the said order, writ appeal was filed and the same was pending before the Division Bench of this Court. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the said interim order passed by this Court was protected by the order of the Division Bench of this Court dated 3.8.2016 made in W.A.No.923 of 2016 and CMP No.11690 of 2016. Further, a direction was also given to the management of Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute to set right the deficiencies pointed out by the State Medical Council as well as by the Medical Council of India.

3. In view of the said order passed by the Division Bench of this Court, I am of the opinion, nothing survives in this contempt petition for adjudication. Hence, the contempt petition is closed.
