The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to pay the fees at 1% of the total financial stakes involved in 75 writ petitions involving Rs.175 Crores as sanctioned by the Government of Tamil Nadu in various G.Os. together with the interest of 12% after 6 month expiry of bill 31.10.2013 as per this Hon'ble Court order dated 09.04.2008 vide W.P.No.5635 of 2007.
2. It is the case where a practicing advocate, who had conducted a batch of matters concerning the Constitutional Validity of certain provisions under the Town Country Planning Act, has not been settled his professional dues despite successful disposal of the matters. Hence, he had addressed a representation dated 31.10.2020 to the respondents claiming his fee. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents so far and therefore, in order to espouse the said cause, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ Petition.
3. Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the 2/4
petitioner submits that it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2020 and pass orders on the same within the time that may be stipulated by this Court.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2020 will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed.
5. In view of the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.10.2020 and pass appropriate orders on the same in accordance with law within a period of four
(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties.
6. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
