Crl.M.P.Nos.5321, 5327, 5331 & 5335 of 2023 in Crl.O.P.Nos.22792, 6069, 22793 & 28016 of 2019 Dr.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.

This Court on 22.07.2022 tranferred the investigation in Crime No.727 of 2018 to Sivakanchi police station and complete the investigation within a period of 90 days.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the State submits that since there was a delay in transferring the case files from the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kumbakonam to Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kanchipuram, he is not able to file final report within the time frame and seeks for extention of time.

The order of this Court to complete the investigation and to file final report ought to have been complied on or before 21.10.2022. However, the applications for extention of time filed only on 28.03.2023. Further, the request to transmit the file from Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kumbakonam to Judicial Magistrate No.I, Kanchipuram is emanated much after the prescribed time. Anyhow the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) states that the final report will be filed within 15 days.

This Court, though not convinced with the reason stated for the delay, extend the time to file a final report by 03.08.2023.
