Prayer:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to allot one flat to each member of the petitioner's Sangam as per members list dated 20.05.2024 who is willing to pay the cost of Rs.1,30,000/- fixed by the 3rd respondent on 02.04.2022, on reasonable monthly instalments on the basis of representation given by the petitioner's Sangam dated 20.05.2024. ORDER
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's Sangam registered on 29.03.1993 in terms of Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the respondent have constructed 636 flats for the houseless poor in the place where the members of the petitioner Sangam were residing for more than a decade, after the demotion of their small huts. While so, the 3rd respondent has given an advertisement in a newspapers stating that the members of the petitioner Sangam has to be pay Rs.1,30,000/- whoever chosen to apply on 02.04.2022. The learned counsel would submit that the petitioner's Sangam made a representation on 20.05.2024 to allot one flat to each member of the petitioner's
Sangam as per members list dated 20.05.2024 who is willing to pay the cost of Rs.1,30,000/- fixed by the 3rd respondent on 02.04.2022, on reasonable monthly instalments. He further submit that this court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioners' representation after providing an opportunity to the members of the Sangam, whoever ready to pay the amount demanded by the 3rd respondent by way of instalments and pass appropriate orders by allotting a flat in favour of the petitioner.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the 3rd respondent will hear the members of the petitioners Sangam and if any provision is available for receiving the amount by way of instalments, the same will be considered and pass appropriate orders within a specified time.
4. In view of the same, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the petitioners' representation dated 20.05.2024 and pass appropriate orders, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the members of the petitioner Sangam and also considering the request of the members of the Sangam to pay the amount by way of installments, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
