ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent to pass orders on the petitioner''s application for grant of Sleeper coach Contract Carriage Omni Bus Permit dated 29.11.2009.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. According to the petitioner, he has applied for a permit for running a sleeper coach contract carriage omni bus as early as on 29.11.2009. Based on the application, the Regional Transport Officer, Namakkal, has sent a recommendation to the respondent for considering his application. Subsequently, Rule 3 of Tamilnadu Motor Vehicle Rules was also amended on 21.05.2018 by G.O.Ms.No.344 Home(Transport-1) Department for granting permission to the sleeper coach contract. Despite the same, no order has been passed in his application. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Considering the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 29.11.2009 and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is ordered.
