... Respondents Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner representation dated 13.02.2020 and issue patta in favour of the petitioner to an extent of 001.0 ares in Survey No.111A/2B in Parukal Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpattu District. For Petitioner : Mr. K. Thenrajan For Respondents : Mr. E. Balamurugan, Special Government Pleader
O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 13.02.2020 and to issue patta in her favour.
2.
It is seen from records that there is already an assignment patta that stands in the name of the petitioner and it was granted on 30.11.1998. Even according to the petitioner, based on this assignment patta, she has paid the property tax and she also has Aadhar Card reflecting the address of the same property which was said to be assigned in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner has made a representation to the third respondent seeking for patta. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
3.
Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.
4.
If, the petitioner has already been granted the assignment patta, there is no question of seeking for one more patta for the very same property. Therefore, there is no meaning in the petitioner making a representation to the respondents seeking for a regular patta. No useful purpose will be served by giving any direction in the writ petition since the petitioner will not be entitled for any regular patta in the light of the assignment patta already standing in the name of the petitioner.
5.
In view of the above, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
