ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 26.01.2026 for the offences punishable under Section 4 of TNPPL Act in Crime No.32 of 2026, registered on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that due to previous enmity the petitioner went to the house of the defacto complainant and threatened him and his family members that he will set fire in their house. It is alleged that on 26.01.2026 the petitioner and some other persons have set fired the house of the defacto complainant and caused damages to the tune of Rs.80,000/-. Hence the case. 1/4

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that due to previous enmity the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and he is in judicial custody from 26.01.2026 and he is ready to co-operate with the investigation and abide by any other stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, prays to grant bail.

4. The learned Government Advocate reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that due to previous enmity the petitioner and other accused set fire in the defacto complainant's house and caused damages to the tune of Rs.80,000/- Hence he opposed to grant bail.

5. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and the manner in which the occurrence has taken place and the petitioner has caused damages to the tune of Rs.80,000/- this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6.Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 25.02.2026 smn 2/4
