ORDER
The petitioner herein has filed this Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records relating to the proceedings of the 2nd respondent released in the official website on 11.12.2012 and quash the same and consequently to direct the Respondents to select and appoint the petitioner to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Geography) on par with juniors based on the marks secured by the petitioner in the examination held on 27.05.2012 including seniority, placement and other service benefits, as per the rank secured by the petitioner in the mark list, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner Mr.R.Ayyappan, S/o.Ranganathan, of Kumbakonam, submits that he has completed bachelor degree in Geography and M.Sc.,Applied Geography in April 2000. He has also completed B.Ed., degree in December 2011.

The petitioner further submits that the 2nd respondent / Teacher Recruitment Board issued notification calling for application for direct recruitment to the vacancies to the post of P.G.Assistants in various subjects in the year 2011-12. Out of which, 24 vacancies to the post of PG Assistant (Geography) were notified. The petitioner further submits that he secured 81 marks in the examination conducted by the 2nd respondent. After awarding weightage marks, he was awarded 94 marks and he secured 2nd rank as per merit list and he came to know that number of candidates who secured lesser marks than him were given appointment. Hence, this writ petition.
4. Heard Mr.S.Nedunchezhian, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.M.Rajangam, learned Government Advocate appearing for the 1st respondent and Mr.C.Kathiravan (TRB), learned counsel for the 2nd respondent.
5. Mr.C.Kathiravan, learned counsel for the 2nd respondent would submit that after the selection process is over, at the time of verification of the mark list and certificates, three persons who had secured Post Graduate degree in Applied Geography were mistakenly selected and 3/6
their temporary selection was cancelled by proceedings in Na.Ka.No.3052/A3/2013 dated 18.05.2013.

From a careful perusal of the notification advertisement issued by Teachers Recruitment Board, it appears that the vacancies are said to be 27 posts of P.G.Assistant (Geography) and the prescribed qualification is candidate should possess P.G.degree in relevant subject with B.Ed., The petitioner has completed his Post Graduation in Applied Geography and the candidates who had completed Applied Geography were cancelled by a proceedings as mentioned supra. The petitioner has completed post graduation in Applied Geography (M.Sc.,). The prescribed qualification for the post of Assistant was post graduation in Geography.
7. Based on the above said observations, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
