Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing respondents 1&3 from laying or erecting overhead electric lines across the petitioners patta land in Survey No.351/6A1 of Appamasamuthram Village & Post Attur Taluk Salem District without complying with the statutory requirements under the India Electricity Act 2003 and the Rules framed thereunder.

According to the learned counsel appearing for the respondent Board, the respondent has already erected overhead normal H.T. Line on the petitioner's land and therefore, the prayer sought for in the writ petition to restrain the respondent from laying of overhead normal H.T. Line in the petitioner's patta land in Survey No.351/6-A1 of Appamasamuthram Village & Post, Attur taluk, Salem District, has become infructuous.

2. Recording the statement made by the counsel appearing for the respondents, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. It is open to the petitioner to work out remedy before the authorities concerned to seek compensation as per the Government order. No costs.
