PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the 3rd respondent viz., the Inspector of Police (Law & Order), K-8, Arumbakkam Police Station, Arumbakkam, Chennai to grant permission to him for conducting a function on 14.03.2020 at 6.p.m., near Aavin Milk Booth at MMDA Colony, Arumbakkam, Chennai to distribute welfare measures for the poor and needy on the basis of his representation dated 22.02.2020.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed praying to direct the 3rd respondent viz., the Inspector of Police (Law & Order), K-8, Arumbakkam Police Station, Arumbakkam, Chennai to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting a function on 14.03.2020 at 6.p.m., near Aavin Milk Booth at MMDA Colony, Arumbakkam, Chennai to distribute welfare measures for the poor and needy on the basis of his representation dated 22.02.2020. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 22.02.2020 was considered and refused to grant permission to conduct public function on 14.03.2020 by the respondent police. 3.In the light of the above submission, the prayer sought for in this petition is getting infructuous.

However, the petitioner is at liberty to submit a fresh representation to the respondents police for the future dates. On receipt of the said representation, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after conducting due enquiry with the counter party if any. 4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
