This contempt petition is filed complaining that the order passed in CMP.No.126 of 1998 in SA.No.679 of 2016 directing the respondents to maintain status quo, as on that day, is violated by putting up some construction in the disputed property.

2. A counter affidavit is filed by the second respondent, wherein it is stated that on coming to know about the interim injunction in CMP.No.12698 of 2016, the THADCO authorities stopped construction in the disputed land and status quo is being maintained as of now.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents.

4. This Court, while entertaining the second appeal, has granted an exparte interim order dated 18.08.2016, directing the respondents to maintain status quo as on that day. Though the petitioner complaints that inspite of granting such order, the respondents have proceeded to put up some construction, the said allegation is denied by the respondents by filing a counter affidavit, by stating that they have stopped the construction, after coming to know about the interim order granted by this Court. They also specifically stated that they are maintaining the status quo as of now.

5. Recording the above said statement, the contempt petition is closed. No costs.
