ORDER

The petitioner worked as a Village Officer and after completing 21 years of service, he took voluntary retirement. His resignation was accepted by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Musiri vide proceedings dated 14.08.1979.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that notwithstanding his representations one after another, action was not taken by the respondent to grant him pension. The petitioner submitted a final representation on 09.10.2013. The present prayer is to direct the respondent to consider and dispose of the said representation on merits.

3. The documents available on record show that the petitioner was permitted to retire from service without any condition vide proceedings dated 14.08.1979. According to the petitioner, he is eligible to receive pension on account of the continuous service of 21 years prior to his retirement.

4. The respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 09.10.2013 on merits and as per law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
