The sole appellant has come up with this appeal challenging the conviction and sentence imposed on him by the learned Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai in C.C.No.29 of 1999, by judgment dated 29.09.2016.

2. Today when the appeal is taken up for hearing, Mrs.G.Ramadhevi, the learned counsel appearing for the appellant would submit that the sole appellant died on 31.12.2016 and the death certificate of the appellant is also produced before this Court . She would further submit that she has been directed by the legal heirs of the appellant not to pursue the matter.

3. Considering the fact that the sole appellant died and the Legal heirs are also not interested in pursuing the matter, the Criminal Appeal is dismissed as abated.
