ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH,J) Seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to restore the water supply through pipe line which connects the distribution to the houses in the Musafer Jung Bahadur Street, Triplicane, Chennai - 5, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. There was no representation on the earlier occasion on behalf of the petitioner and even today.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the respondents are not supplying water regularly to the houses in the Musafer Jung Bahadur Street, Triplicane, Chennai - 5.

4. In the counter affidavit filed by respondents 3 and 4, the following statements has been made:- "12.I submit that the request of 9000 litres per day to be supplied through Tanker Lorry to the petitioner and other premises located in the said Street, lorry water has been supplied on alternate days by the Board without any delay.

13. I humbly submit that the normal piped water supply has been resumed to all households in the said Musafer Jung Bahadur Street, Triplicane, Chennai - 600 002 from September 2019 due to heavy rain occurred recent months and all lakes around the City are having sufficient water storage position to supply water to the people of Chennai City.

14. I respectfully submit that due to normal supply resumed by the Board through pipe line supply to all houses in the Musafer Jung Bahadur Street, Triplicane, Chennai - 600 005 and water

is flowing in house taps and hence no need for Tanker Lorry supply to the said street. However, if the residents are required water through Tank Lorry the request will be considered and arranged to be supplied on demand and also on payment as per the procedure being adopted in the Board."

5. Recording the above, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P.No.8048 of 2019 is closed.
