Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass an order in Applications dated 11.10.2017 and 21.02.2019 made by the writ petitioners appointing the writ petitioners herein as members of Board of Trustees of Arulmighu Ramalinga Sowdeswari Amman and Sri Mariamman Temples, Mariamman Kovil Street, Ponnammapet, Salem - 636 001, as per the Scheme framed in O.A.No.76 of 1982 dated 04.01.1984 within a time frame. Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioners seek for a mandamus directing the first respondent to pass orders on the applications dated 11.10.2017 and 21.02.2019, wherein and whereby, they sought for appointing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

them as the Trustees of Arulmighu Ramalinga Sowdeswari Amman and Sri Mariamman Temples, Mariamman Kovil Street, Ponnammapet, Salem - 636 001.

3. Heard both sides.

4. The grievance of the petitioners before this Court is that the said applications have not been considered by the respondents so far.

5. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioners, as it is for the first respondent to consider and decide the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the first respondent to consider the applications of the petitioners dated 11.10.2017 & 21.02.2019 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioners and the other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
