Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order issued by the second respondent vide his proceedings No.Se.Mu.Aa.No.A/794/2016 dated 15.12.2020, thereby reverting the petitioner from the post of Junior Assistant to the post of Market Maistry and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to promote the petitioner to the post of Junior Assistant under the second respondent.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the order of reversion dated 15.12.2020 from the post of Junior Assistant to the post of Market Maistry on the ground that he did not require qualification.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Watchman on 10.03.1997 and joined in the erstwhile Chengalpet District Market at Kancheepuram on 12.03.1997. Thereafter, he was promoted to the post of Junior Assistant on 25.09.2020. The petitioner was reverted to the post of Market Maistry from the post of Junior Assistant on the ground that he did not acquire the qualification as early as on 15.12.2020. Now, he is working as Market Maistry. However, the petitioner submitted a representation on 01.11.2023 stating that he has acquired the required qualification to the post of Junior Assistant. 2/4

Therefore, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
