ORDER
This matter came up for consideration before this Court on 19.08.2025. As there was no representation for the petitioners, the matter was directed to be listed under the caption ''for dismissal'' today. Even today, in spite of the matter being listed under the said caption, there is no representation for the petitioners.
2. Be that as it may, the second respondent herein is also not served on notice, though this Writ Petition is of the year 2013. For that reason also, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed.
3. However, it is brought to the notice of this Court by Mr.M.Aswin, learned counsel for the respondent Corporation, that the marriage between the first petitioner and the deceased P.Krishnamoorthy stood dissolved by a decree of divorce, dated 29.11.1995, passed in F.C.O.P.No.936 of 1993 on the file of II Additional Family Court, Madras, and a copy of the same is also placed before this Court.
4. In the light of the above dissolution of marriage between the first petitioner and the deceased employee of the respondent Corporation, namely, P.Krishnamoorthy, as early as in the year 1995, the question of payment of terminal benefits, payable consequent upon the demise of the said P.Krishnamoorthy in favour of the first petitioner herein, does not arise.
5. In the said circumstances, this Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution as well as on merits. No costs. Consequently, the connected M.P.No.1 of 2013 is closed.
