ORDER

Heard Mr.M.Kamalanathan, learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.S.K.Ramesh Kumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Respondent.

2.M/s.V.Maheswari, Assistant Engineer O&M, TANGEDO, Alandur is present in court and she has explained the facts and circumstances which prevail in the building. From the written instructions given by the Assistant Engineer to the learned Standing Counsel, it appears that they have only investigated the issue from the angle as to whether there has been any theft of electricity. It is submitted by the Assistant Engineer that commercial connection has been given to Mr.Karthikeyan and if he has taken an extension from the said connection for commercial purpose, it would not amount to theft. However, the petitioner's case is that his brother has given commercial electricity connection, but unauthorisedly extended to one Jambulingam and M/s.Revathi Opticals who are stated to be the tenants in respect of separate premises having separate door numbers under the other brother Manavalan.

3.Having set out the above facts, it appears that the Assistant Engineer is now clear as to what she has to do in the matter. Therefore, this contempt petition is closed giving the Assistant Engineer three weeks time to act

accordingly. No costs.
