Mr.P.Senthilvel, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 21.09.2016 for issuance of patta to the petitioner in respect of the land in Survey No.357/11 measuring an extent of 2422 sq.ft. and survey No.357/16 to an extent 9374 sq.ft. situated at Thaiyur A Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

3. It is seen that the said representation was sent to the respondent who is the District Revenue Officer, while the competent authority, namely the original authority being the Tahsildar. Therefore, it is for the petitioner to give a representation/application before the concerned Tahsildar and seek for patta. If any such representation is given, the said official will consider the same on its own merits and pass https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

orders in accordance with law, as this Court is not expressing any view on the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioner.

4. With the above observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
