ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Salem to dispose of the case in C.C. No.195 of 2018 within a stipulated period as may be fixed by this Court.

2. This Court, by an earlier order dated 08.03.2024, had already directed the 1 / 4

learned Magistrate to dispose of the said case as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months. However, it is now brought to the notice of this Court that the trial could not be completed within the said time frame due to non-cooperation on the part of the prosecution. The learned Magistrate has therefore sought additional time to conclude the trial.

3. It is now stated that out of 20 witnesses, 17 witnesses have already been examined and only 3 witnesses remain to be examined. The case stands posted on 08.07.2025 for further proceedings.

4. In the above circumstances, the respondent Police is directed to produce the remaining witnesses on the said date, viz., 08.07.2025 without fail. The learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Salem is directed to complete the recording of evidence of the remaining witnesses and thereafter proceed further in accordance with law. The entire trial in C.C.No.195 of 2018 shall be concluded within a further period of three months from 08.07.2025. It is made clear that no further extension of time shall be granted for concluding the trial.
